Google My Business changes to Business Profile

The slight change in name also shows some changes in what used to be called "Google My Business". The Google's Business Profile helps business owners show up on local maps, show off photos of your business, allows customers to post reviews, and post updates about your business. I have a free program to teach you more about how to build a business profile to get you in the first spot of any local business search.

Let's look at the changes

Google announced you can make edits to your business profile directly in the Google Search. You will be able to create Google Posts, your service listings, your delivery options and directly Google Search.

Google has made it easier for business owners to promote their business with this new update. It’s an innovative way for businesses to expand their reach and make themselves more inviting to the public.

It is important for any business to have a professional presence on Google Search.

Businesses can now reveal their products, services or simply their location with a one-click option that is placed directly within the Google search bar.

1. Pointy

This is a big deal for local business owners struggling with the transition to online shopping rather than brick and mortar. I have a separate article just for this due to how hugely impactful this can be.

This is something that you will have to apply to and eligible retailers in the U.S. can get all their in-store product inventory automatically added to their Business Profile by signing up for Pointy from Google right from Google search.

2. Services

We want you to be the hero of your own story and this is another step towards that goal! You can now use the "Edit profile" menu within Google Search to quickly update the services you offer and, if applicable, the local areas you service.

Google said for service or restaurant businesses and are working with one of our partner Reserve with Google partners, you can now enable online bookings through your Business Profile — right from Google Search.

3. Google Posts

You'll be able to add Google Posts directly from Google Search — and they've also added a few new features to make it easier for you to access and update your Business Profile. You should post at least once a week with keywords that you are trying to rank your business for. Embrace the Power of Competitive Intelligence to search for keywords.

To make these updates to your Business Profile, start by logging into the Google account

associated with your business. From there you can type the name of your business or "my business" into Google Search or tap your profile picture followed by "Your Business Profile" on Google Maps.

A new "Show My Posts" option will appear in the upper right hand corner of search results pages so you can view your recent posts, replies and favorites. These posts will be organized by date and are available as a list. Just tap on the post title to see the full content from Google.com/blog or from your Business page.

4. Take out and delivery

Google announced today that they are working to make online ordering easier than ever. Specifically, Google will soon launch a new “Place your order” button in Search and Maps. This button will show up on restaurant pages when restaurants are accepting orders or when they have menus available to be ordered from.

Google is hoping that this new feature will allow consumers to place fast and easy online orders from their favorite restaurants.

Owner, Kasi Drummer

I help small and medium business owners compete with big corporations by teaching them know how to use search engines like Google and/or creating a Search Engine Optimization dynamic monthly plan.

There are more than 1 billion searches made on Google every day, and only 5% of those searches are for local businesses.

This means that people can find your business but they won't be finding it on the first page of their search.

I show you exactly why this happens, how to fix it, and what you need to do so that your small or medium sized company can compete with corporate giants.

Hey folks, I'm Kasi Drummer the owner of J&K Online Development. I want to bring you information to get your website in front of more people and how to nurture your relationships with your customers.
