Victoria Lopez, LPC-Associate

As a trauma specialist, I understand the deep pain and scars that can result from experiences of severe trauma and emotional abuse. I am committed to helping individuals heal from these wounds and find a path towards a more fulfilling life. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, compassion, and understanding. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I strive to meet each client where they are at and adjust my approach to meet their unique and individual needs.

YOUR PAST DOESN’T HAVE TO HOLD YOU BACK ANYMORE.

My purpose is to help people who struggle with negative self-beliefs live a life they are proud of. Going through traumatic experiences can affect every aspect of one’s present life and lead to unhealthy life choices. The things that helped us get through and survive hard moments in our past can be the very things holding us back from living the life that we want now.

Victoria's Therapy Method

I graduated from Tarleton State University with a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling in 2017. I have had the pleasure of working with a wide range of clients, but they all have at least one thing in common – trauma. I have worked with veterans, those struggling with substance abuse, children and adults with different intellectual and developmental abilities, survivors of abuse, and other victims of crimes. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to support those who have gone through traumatic experiences. I use a mind-body approach, with person-centered activities, to help you accomplish your goals.

WHY WORK WITH ME

My approach is non-judgmental and direct. I have a dark sense of humor sometimes, but I find that when life keeps knocking you down, it’s okay to be honest about what gets us through each day with a sense of humor. I take a personalized approach with each client – I know that sometimes deep breathing and talking about your feelings doesn’t automatically change the way you feel, so I hope to work with you to find what tools will help. We will explore your background together and decide what is most appropriate for you. I know sitting across from a stranger can seem scary, disagreeable, or just plain weird, so we will get to know each other first; I will never ask you to open up about experiences that you don’t feel ready to address.
