Was there a Google Search Ranking Algorithm Update on September 1st?

There has been some small decrease in many of my client's website traffic and many other SEO Agencies and business forums. We are not sure if there is an algorithm that was released but many have only experienced a small dip in traffic.


Besides the Link Spam Update in July 26, there hasn't been any recent announcements of any algorithm update.


This could be a small update that touched down and then leveled off again based on the amount of complaints from the SEO Community. It was big enough to be detected on one of our tracking tools set in place to monitor potential search engine algorithm updates.


Google did not confirm that there was an update as well.
